At the top of William Hill website, change the settings for “Odds Format” from Fraction to Decimal. This will allow for easy comparison with the betting exchange odds.

Place your £10 qualifying bet

Place a £10 qualifying bet at odds greater than 1/2 (1.5) and you’ll immediately receive 2 x £15 free bets.

The following example is using a £10 qualifying bet on Southampton to beat Brighton at odds of 3/4 (1.75).

Lay your £10 qualifying bet

Use the Trickybet lay calculator in ‘Normal bet/qualifier bet’ mode.

Then, lay £9.83 on Southampton at odds of 1.8 with Smarkets, for £0.36 liability at the exchange (assuming 2% commission).

So the bet is now matched.

Regardless of Southampton versus Brighton result, you’ll incur a small qualifying bet loss.

a.) If Southampton win: Plus £7.50 at William Hill, minus £7.86 at Smarkets = £0.36 qualfying loss.

b). If Southampton do not win: Minus £10 at William Hill. Plus £9.63 at Smarkets (£9.83 minus £0.20 commission) = £0.37 qualifying loss.

Use your William Hill free bets

Let’s get started with using the two £15 free bets, which are valid for 30 days.

When using a free bet at William Hill, click on your selection and it’s added to your betting slip.

In the betting slip, input your stake, i.e. £15 and select the free bet from the dropdown box. Finally, click “Place Bet”.

William Hill has competitive odds on football and horse racing. This makes it easy to find a high odds match for your £15 free bets. Let’s look at two examples from top-level football.

Using the Trickybet lay calculator in bet type “Free Bet SNR (Stake Not Returned)” mode.

Place your first £10 free bet

The first example is a fixture from 30th January 2018. Rennes vs. PSG draw is available as an 8.00/8.20 odds match.

a). Use your William Hill £15 free bet on the draw @ 8.00.

b). Lay £12.84 on the Rennes draw at Smarkets for £92.42liability.

If Rennes win at William Hill that is £105 minus £61.63 equals £12.58.

Or if Rennes do not win, the £12.84 lay bet wins at Smarkets, minus 2% commission of £0.26 for £12.58 profit.

Place your second £10 free bet

For example, a Premier League match. Chelsea vs. Bournemouth draw is available as a 6.00/6.20 odds match.

a). Place your William Hill £15 free bet on the draw @ 6.20.

b). Lay £12.14 on the draw at Smarkets. Your lay liability is £63.11.

If the match finishes a draw: you win £75 at William Hill, minus £63.11 lay loss equals £11.89.

If the match is not a draw: Your £15 free bet loses. But it wasn’t your own money anyway, and the £12.14 lay at Smarkets wins, minus £0.25 commission gives an £11.89 profit.

Yet again, matched betting strategy shows the same profit regardless of the result.

Net profit

Based on the above figures, you’d expect to make £23 to £24 from William Hill £30 of free bets. A small qualifying loss allows you to back and lay the free bet for profit.

Aim for 75% net profit from the William Hill welcome offer.
